Who’s building your house?
Unless the Lord builds the house, those who labor to raise it will have worked for nothing… for God provides for those He loves, even while they are sleeping. Psalm 127
I enjoy watching and photographing birds – as if you couldn’t tell by my All Birds gallery! It’s something I can do around the house all year. As much as I enjoy their beauty, I also enjoy capturing their behavior. It’s March here in the Midwest so birds are starting to pair up begin their home building. It’s amazing how God created them with the ability to make a perfect home to raise their young. Not too big, not to small – just right. Some build nests from grass and mud, while others, like woodpeckers, use their beaks to drill holes in dead trees to make a home. Each perfectly suited for their species.
What about our species – mankind? The psalmist sums it up very succinctly as noted above. I believe what the psalmist is saying is – unless we place God at the center of our lives we’re really going to struggle to hold it all together.
What do you think? Maybe it’s time for a little home inspection.
