I will sing a new song
I honestly don’t know if I can make better bird images than this. The composition, lighting, exposure, balance, and posture of the Carolina wren is as good as it gets for me. It’s not a majestic eagle soaring above the cliffs, or the colorful plumage of a peacock strutting her stuff. It’s just a simple, little 4″ wren perched on a walnut stump!
Insignificant you may think. But, not to the Creator. About 10 minutes after capturing this image, I was reading psalm 40. The symbolism became glaring as I pondered my own life. More than one time (seems like daily) has God pulled me out of the pit!
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me,
and he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair,
out of the mud and the mire.
He set my feet on solid ground
and steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done and be amazed.
They will put their trust in the Lord….
