Light and dark
If you’ve seen any of my work, you’ll notice this is a break from what I usually shoot. But, the early morning conditions lent themselves to a bit of creativity. The picnic table on the end of the dock surrounded completely by fog begged for a subject and some attention. My first snap was of me on the left holding my iphone with the flashlight turned on. The “me” on the right was without light.
When I got home and merged the two images, the feeling I got was – on the left is an illumined person. Someone who is exposed by, and in possession of light and truth. This light makes him known and truth makes him know. However, on the right is darkness and secrets. None of us are born into the light. We are born into pitch black darkness! However, we don’t have to stay there. As Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
If you’re searching for a little light in your life, let me know. I’ve got a few spare bulbs.
