A double eagle made my day
We’re blessed in Missouri to have some bald eagles migrate south for the winter. With the Mississippi and Missouri rivers as flyways, the eagles have plenty of fishing opportunities along the way. It’s always a treat to see them.
Today was a special treat as I was heading over to Creve Coeur Park to take a peak at the fall foliage as the rain began to subside. There is a giant tree on the north side of highway 364 at River Valley Drive. As I was driving by, I noticed these two beauties perched on the highest branch. I exited the highway on to 141 then to River Valley hoping they were still there.
Yep! I had my camera preset at ISO 800, f9, and +1.33 EV. Shutter speed was around 1/400. And I was shooting with my 150-600mm telephoto lens. The temperature was in the upper 30s and the wind was probably blowing at 15-20 MPH. But, there they sat while I pulled over on the side of the road and snap, snap, snapped.
They are truly majestic creatures. I will offer these in small prints up to 16 inches in size. Go to my purchase/contact page and send me an email if you are interested.
