Framed
I am really stoked about this image. Why? There are probably more reasons than time and space will allow, and I’m sure I’d bore you to tears in the process. But, I’ll share a glimpse.
The image was made at the Colonel Davenport home on Rock Island, IL. The natural light was simply exquisite – no blown out highlights or dark shadows. Just pure, soft, warm, afternoon light. The compositional elements are simple and don’t compete with each other. And, except for the wall shelf and its articles, the other elements run out of the frame causing you to extend the image with your imagination. (Sometimes you have to break rules.)
Perhaps equally important is what the scene represents – the life of colonel Davenport which was cut short due to the bullet of intruders on July 4th, 1845.
Square prints are available for this image.
