Over the moon – the backstory

It was a chilly winter morning and I knew the moon was going to be full. As usual, I’m up before dawn and out the door looking for the right light and composition. I’ve wanted to capture the moon but the time of day is crucial for the type of image I want. This was that kind of day. The moon was setting and the sun was just coming up.

When I pulled into the parking area at the bike trail adjacent to Hwy 364 I knew I’d have to hurry to find an opening in the trees to capture the moon. I guess it was about 1/2 mile down the trail and into the woods. Staring at the moon I kept walking hoping to find a clearing. About 100 yards ahead looked good. Bam! I quickly set up my tripod and camera, adjusted my settings, took a few snaps, and voilà – I got the image.

But why Over the moon? First of all I have two grandgirls. That should answer the question by itself. And, even as much as I love them it pales in comparison to the Father who is completely over the moon about us.

For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. Zephania 3:17

If you enjoy reading my backstories (many more to come) and would like for your group or organization to see and hear them first hand, please give me a shout. I’m available for presentations, speaking engagements, and other meet the artist type of events.
