Moon walk
True story! After Neil Armstrong’s moon walk 50 years ago today we were visiting my dad’s parents in Elsberry, MO. Our nick names for them were Mommoran and Daddyran. When my dad reflected on man walking on the moon he asked Mommoran, “Momma, what do you think about the moon landing?”
She replied, “Babe (my dad’s nickname and mine), I don’t think man landed on the moon!” He said, “Momma, they’ve got pictures of it on TV.”
“You can do anything on TV,” she replied.
“But, they brought back rocks from the moon,” my dad said. In a classic reply Mommoran quipped, “I can walk out in the street and pick up rocks.”
As my dad always says, “You can tell a Moran, but you can’t tell him much.”
