Finding the extra in an ordinary road trip
What a wonderful day trip! We drove 375 miles (round trip) on back roads through the eastern foothills of the Ozarks with way-points such as Johnson Shut-ins, the Black, Jacks Fork, and Current rivers, Rocky Falls, and Round Spring to our destination of Echo Bluff State Park – Missouri’s newest park.
The photo below is of Echo Bluff. There is a new lodge and cabins (built in 2016) with finely appointed rooms. The river is crystal clear and floating options are nearby. With many other amenities and camping options this would be a great addition to anyone’s get-away plans. (But, as a friend reminded me, besides the lodge restaurant there aren’t many dining options near by.)
