A photograph 32 years in the making!
Although the circumstances that brought us together (the passing of our sister in law) weren’t ideal, the past week was one of the most memorable of my life. The last time the Moran boys and families were together was in 1989. Our parents rented a large home in NC and we all gathered for a reunion.
Fast forward to January 2022. When Joe called on the 2nd and let us know that Linda had lost her life after an 18 year battle with Parkinson’s and dementia it didn’t take too long before we made plans, hopped in the car, and made our way to Charleston. There wasn’t going to be a public service for Linda. John and Megan wanted to honor Linda in their own private way. John told me, “Babe, we live simple and we die simple.” He knew and acknowledged that Linda was now out of suffering and was in heaven.
Over the course of the next several days Joe and Louise provided everything we needed for our stay. The ribs, roast, burgers, and brownies were the finest Hotel Moran had to offer. But, it was the stories we shared, whether around the fire or around the table, that made this visit special. It was further evidence to me that I have the three greatest brothers in the world. And, whether we get together next year, or in 32 more years, some things will never change. #brothersforever
