Is this the same bird species?!
Yes, they are. While out this morning I came across a band of yellow-rumped warblers (non-breeding plumage). There may have been 8-10 of them. But, why do they look different? (there may be some male, female, and juveniles) The difference is the temperature of the light. Yes, the color of light is measured in degrees of temperature, although not Fahrenheit. Light in shaded conditions produces a bluish cast while early and late light casts a yellowish cast. That’s why these warblers take on a different appearance. I tried to get a shot of their yellow rump, but no dice. You can see a bit of yellow on the side of one or two of them. Hope you enjoy the snaps.
