Lightning strikes twice!
With the abundance of monarchs (8 in total) lighting on the blazing star, I went out to try and capture some of the action. I have hundreds of solo butterflies, so I was looking to try and capture a few of them together. As erratic as they are it isn’t easy – trust me! But, lucky me, lightning struck twice. The first time with three monarchs and the second with five.
Blazing star, or liatris, is a tall, late blooming perennial that butterflies feed on as they journey south. I planted a few last fall and they are indeed dong their job.
