"The
true work of art is but a shadow of the divine
perfection."
Michelangelo
For
me, the words of Michelangelo ring true as I seek to capture
those "shadows of the divine perfection." My photography
may best be described as an eclectic mix of sacred and secular
images. Not being typecast by any one genre', my work and
interests have evolved over time. Whether it's an abstract
image or a pastoral scene, I look beyond the form, color,
texture, and line to find the subtle stories and metaphors
that others may pass by.
My
current body of work focuses on the marginalized in our communities.
Typified by the title Passed
Over, too many times in our society, we
“pass over” the needs and value of others in our quest to
“have it all.” Often times leaving others behind because they're
different or we haven't taken the time to understand them.
Therefore, society misses out on the value and richness they
can add to our culture.
My
artwork is widely held privately and exhibited locally, nationally,
and internationally. All of my work is captured on film then
digitized and printed on archival paper with pigmented inks.
I
conduct various workshops that that are suitable for any audience.
I am also available for speaking events and meet the artist
venues.
My
wife, Kathleen, and I reside in St. Charles, Missouri.
We
hope you find the images pleasing and the words encouraging.
